Supporting Information - Your Levy 2007/08 Invoice Explained

The supporting information which accompanies the invoice is tailored to reflect the data used in the scheme’s levy calculation (based on the data provided to the Pension Protection Fund by the required deadlines in a scheme return, any updates to the scheme return data, and voluntary certificates).

We would encourage schemes to review the supporting information provided with their invoice before contacting the Pension Protection Fund with any queries about the levy calculation. However, if you do wish to contact us to discuss your invoice, please quote the scheme name and invoice number shown on the front of the invoice.

Attached are four simple examples of the invoice which a scheme may receive, with the accompanying supporting information, “Your Levy Invoice Explained”. These examples are for illustrative purposes, and are only a small subset of the combinations of information a scheme could see on their invoice and supporting information.

Example 1:  A single employer scheme with no voluntary certificate data
Example 2:  A multi-employer scheme with a type B contingent asset
Example 3:  A single employer scheme with a deficit-reduction contribution certificate
Example 4:  A single employer scheme with a type A guarantee from a UK parent company
